Helfers Electric Company, Inc. was started in 1992 by Ellen and Bernhard Helfers.  The company included three employees; the owner’s and their son Kevin.  The company began working on commercial jobs and residential remodels.  As the company began to grow it added a few more employees, including Ellen and Bernhard’s other sons Curtis and Chris.   In 2006, Ellen and Bernhard officially retired and their three sons took over the ownership.  As the construction industry has changed over the last Nineteen years, Helfers Electric Company, Inc. has found a way to grow in spite of economical pressures.  We believe that the reason for this longevity is because we believe in working with our customers in a positive and mutually beneficial manner and pride ourselves on integrity and consistency.  Because of these beliefs, we have maintained long relationships with our General Contractors some even ranging to our inception back in 1992. 

Helfers Electric Company, Inc. has completed work in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Imperial Valley, Riversaide, San Mateo and San Diego County.  We are a versatile company that is capable of completing design build projects for the public and private sector.  We have also completed post design build jobs for various retail businesses, schools, Universities and Government Facilities.  We have experience with working on military bases and are well versed in prevailing wage laws.   

As a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Electricians of San Diego we are not only active but we are also a certified electrical training company.  We have had several of our employees graduate from the ABC school and in 2008 one of our employee was given the highest rank of all graduates. 

As a family owned business we have joined the UCSD Family Business Forum as a learning tool to improve our relationships within our company and with our customers.

Helfers Electric Co., Inc. and it's employee's are involved in many community programs such as; The Boys and Girls Club of San Diego, El Cajon Little League, Whispering Winds, AYSO of El Cajon, The MS Society, St. Kierans, The Liam Foundation, St. Dimas, Set Free Ministries and El Cajon's Neighborhood Watch.

Helfers Electric Co., Inc. is licensed with the State of California Contractors.
